I am an independently licensed social worker with a supervisory designation and more than 20 years of experience in the field of mental health and substance use services. My expertise includes individual and group therapy with adolescents, adults, older adults, and families. My professional journey has included numerous positions and responsibilities in direct practice, training, and program development. I specialize in assisting family members dealing with difficult diagnosis for loved ones, homeless outreach, case management, caring and advocating for the aging population, and support for severely mentally ill patients, including those with dual diagnosis and family members of those adults.
I have worked in various mental health and counseling settings since 1989, including; residential treatment, outpatient community mental health, and emergency shelters. Currently, I work in a medical hospital completing psychosocial assessments for patients with acute mental health and substance use symptoms. While in this role, I have become aware of a service gap. I decided that it was time to start a practice of my own to offer individuals the support they need.
My focus is to assist you in working through your fear, sadness, and pain after you, or your loved one, have been diagnosed with a chronic disease such as Dementia or an autoimmune disorder.
Other areas of interest include; advocating for disenfranchised populations, providing therapy to the aged, assisting in understanding, and living with, dementia disorders, treatment of dual diagnosis, and walking with you during times of grief and loss.
I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology at The University of Akron and my Master’s Degree in Adult Mental Health at Case Western Reserve University.
We promise to be there for you every step of your journey. Our goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
